In Remembrance of 9/11

Never forget, 9/11, September 11th… 1973.

40 years ago today, when the CIA overthrew the government of, and then murdered, the democratically-elected Chilean socialist president Salvador Allende. The world’s shining beacon of democracy than replaced him with the far-right dictator Pinochet, who proceeded to brutally kill over 3,000, intern at least 80,000, and torture more than 30,000 political opponents, including women and children; privatize pretty much everything he could get his hands on, plunging hundreds of thousands into miserable, abject poverty; and sell his country to U.S.-based multinational corporations.

Make the economy [and the people] scream,” demanded war criminal President Richard Nixon.

Never forget.
